AT&T Launches Aspire Accelerator
Rochester Chamber Partner member AT&T has launched a nationwide search for game-changing solutions to education challenges, calling on innovative ed-tech ventures to apply for the 2018 AT&T Aspire Accelerator.
The Aspire Accelerator is open to any type of organization – for-profit and non-profit – working on a product or service that uses technology to support students’ educational and career success. Organizations chosen to participate in the program will receive $125,000 from AT&T, as well as access to expert services and mentorship both from AT&T and external ed-tech thought-leaders.
The application is open through January 27 and the program will begin with selected ventures in April 2018.
AT&T Aspire Accelerator companies have unique stories, diverse leadership and come from all over the U.S. Since launching in 2015, the Accelerator program participants have included 58% women-led companies and 37% minority-led companies. Over half the participants come from non-traditional tech hotbed cities. The 19 previous participants have thrived in the program and together have reached more than 10 million students and attracted more than $11.5 million in funding.
Potential areas of focus include, but are not limited to: mobile applications that drive education outcomes; platforms for teachers, students and/or parents; learning and curriculum management tools; assessment and outcome tracking platforms; education distribution (online instruction, courses, etc.); and increased access for existing best practices.
