GRQC Seeks "Day of Quality" Participants
Greater Rochester Quality Council, a Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce affiliate, has issued a call for participants for its fourth annual Day of Quality. The Day of Quality deploys teams of GRQC volunteer experts to lead projects aimed at saving time and money at participating organizations. Not-for-profits, businesses, schools, and churches are welcome to apply.
This year’s Day of Quality is set for October 5 with a wrap-up celebration planned for October 19. Participants select one process to improve in their organization then meet with a team of GRQC experts to focus on a project scoped for results that are achievable in one day. Participation is free, but advance registration is required. Visit the Greater Rochester Quality Council’s Day of Quality website at http://bit.ly/GRQC2017 for more information. Application deadline is August 16.
Modeled after the United Way’s Day of Caring, the GRQC Day of Quality is a collaborative one-day event to provide quality principles and resources that help improve processes at organizations across the Greater Rochester region. Organizations participate in a series of meetings prior to the October 5 Day of Quality to define their projects.
Flower City Habitat for Humanity Construction Manager Sheila M. Sloan said, “I was delighted to have FCHH be selected as a project for the GRQC Day of Quality. From the first phone calls, I began thinking about my problem in a whole different way. My team of Carolyn, Mike, Kathryn, and Sara asked questions that really began to focus on a new direction to a solution. Habitat needs to improve our material supply process and I believe the team crafted a solution that will help us tremendously. I am grateful to have worked with this team of professionals and hope to continue our association with GRQC.”
