RBA Statement on AIM Photonics Headquarters Location
Rochester Business Alliance President and CEO Bob Duffy issued the following statement regarding Governor Andrew Cuomo's announcement of Legacy Tower as AIM Photonics headquarters, the Sibley building as incubator space, and Eastman Business Park as the manufacturing hub.
Duffy said, "Today is a great day for Rochester and the Finger Lakes region. Rochester Business Alliance is both thrilled and grateful for Governor Cuomo's selection of Legacy Tower as the AIM Photonics headquarters. The decision ensures that we have a world-class gateway for the global high-tech community that's already looking to partner with Rochester and New York to develop next-generation technologies.
The Rochester business community supports our collective photonics future, thanks to the leadership of Governor Cuomo and SUNY Poly CEO Alain Kaloyeros. We also want to thank all of our local partners, leaders, and elected officials who worked so hard to make this a reality.
We cannot emphasize enough how important the business headquarters location is for the region. Without it, nothing else is possible. The headquarters will serve as a magnet for companies and an epicenter of photonics decision making. The Sibley building, Eastman Business Park, and other potential future locations will also become catalysts for job creation and the economic revitalization of Greater Rochester."
