Empire State Development announced that Rochester Chamber Partner member REDCOM Laboratories Inc., will grow its operations in the Town of Victor, Ontario County. The company, which specializes in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of circuit boards for secure communication solutions for commercial, military and government applications, is updating its facility to meet customer demand. As a result of the company’s growth, REDCOM Laboratories Inc. is planning to create up to 21 new jobs at the Victor facility over the next five years; 140 jobs will be retained. ESD will facilitate that growth with up to $300,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program in exchange for promised job creation. Also providing assistance for the project are the Ontario County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC) and Greater Rochester Enterprise.

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. is a woman-owned, small business. Since 1978, REDCOM has been developing and manufacturing the world’s most reliable communications systems for all branches of the U.S. military, our NATO allies, government agencies, emergency responders, service providers, and enterprises. As part of the company’s modernization project, it will purchase new surface mount technology equipment that has higher capacity circuit board printing and component assembly capabilities so that it can better meet client demands. The total project cost is almost $2 million.

REDCOM Laboratories CEO, Dinah Gueldenpfennig Weisberg said, “REDCOM is still going strong after more than 40 years in business in the Greater Rochester area. We are excited about the growth we see for our business, and we look forward to contributing to the upstate NY economy as we expand our local electronics manufacturing capabilities and the development of our workforce. Our commitment to quality is embodied in our ISO 9001:2015 certification and will be strengthened this year with the addition of AS9100D and ISO 13485 certifications. The future for REDCOM and upstate New York is very bright.”

Future economic growth in our area is clearly tied to the advanced manufacturing and technology sectors and REDCOM is well positioned to continue to be a leader in that movement. This is a great example of the good things that can happen when the state works with business hand in hand and local government succeeds in keeping the cost of doing business competitive.”

Today’s announcement is a testament to their long track record of success and strong commitment to this community. This is wonderful news for the Finger Lakes region, and an wise investment of state resources in a proven, home-grown small business.”
