Rochester Chamber Welcomes 22 YPs to 2018-19 CLIMB

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce welcomed 22 young professionals to its 2018-19 CLIMB program.  CLIMB stands for Chamber Leadership Initiative: Mentoring for Business, a ten-month experiential program designed to connect young professionals with business leaders across multiple sectors of the Finger Lakes economy.

Rochester Chamber President and CEO Bob Duffy said, “We chose CLIMB participants based upon their already demonstrated leadership within their organizations and our community as well as their vision for the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.  I have no doubt that this ten-month experience learning from our region’s top business and community leaders will take them to the next level as our leaders of the future.”

Organizations offering mentoring experiences for 2018-19 CLIMB participants include Wegmans, Three Brothers Winery and Estates, Genesee Brewing Company, BadFish Consulting, Unshackle Upstate, Eastman Business Park, The Technology Farm, Common Ground Health, LiDestri Food and Drink, NY Kitchen, and Constellation Brands as well as regional economic development professionals and state and local elected leaders.  The program, which also includes a personalized leadership development curriculum from The XLR8 Team, holds its opening session at the Wegmans Organic Farm in Canandaigua Tuesday, August 28.

CLIMB facilitator and Rochester Chamber Sr. Manager of Marketing and Engagement Shannon Ealy said, “The CLIMB program offers our young professionals an unparalleled opportunity to grow as leaders in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region, with a deep dive into the strengths of our regional economy, behind-the-scenes looks at some of our greatest success stories, exclusive connections to accomplished leaders, and a chance to act upon some of our most pressing community issues. We are thrilled with the caliber of this year’s cohort, and can’t wait to get started.”
