Three RIT Staff Members Receive Diversity Awards

Three staff members from Rochester Chamber Partner member Rochester Institute of Technology are among the first recipients of New York State Education and Research Network’s (NYSERNet) Diversity Awards.  The program is intended to encourage underrepresented women and men to advance in the information technology field by attending The NYSERNet Conference 2017.

The three recipients from RIT’s Information and Technology Services organization are Nicole Mirando, senior EBA programmer/analyst; Caitlin Nairn, senior user experience designer; and Michelle Guerrieri-Poysa, a senior web programmer/analyst.

“Information and Technology Services is very proud of our three team members— Nicole, Caitlin and Michelle— for being selected as NYSERNet Diversity Award recipients,” said Jeanne Casares, RIT’s chief information officer. Their participation in this conference will add new and rich voices to the technology discussions today and in the future.”

The NYSERNet Conference is a two-day event for IT practitioners and decision-makers from educational and research institutions across New York State. This year, it features speakers discussing network and security technology, professional development, and cutting-edge technical ideas and trends for the campus environment. More than 100 IT professionals from across New York State are expected to attend.
