Veterans Outreach Center to Offer Free Armed Security Guard Training Certification

Rochester Chamber member Veterans Outreach Center has received funding to provide free armed security guard training certification for six qualified veterans, in partnership with Rochester’s Valor Training Group.

“Through the generosity of a donor who chooses to be unnamed, and through partnerships like Valor Training Group, we are excited to be able to provide educational opportunities to local veterans that can lead to future careers for these brave men and women,” Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director and U.S. Army veteran Laura Stradley said. “Collaborations like these help us all come together for the benefit of our veteran community.”

The training involves two days of classroom instruction at Scottsville Fire Department, 385 Scottsville Mumford Rd, Scottville, NY 14546, and four days on the Mumford Sportsman’s Club shooting range, 8667 Gulf Rd., Leroy, NY 14822. Classes are anticipated to begin in July, and slots are on a first-come first-served basis.
