Hill & Markes Fundraiser Provides Over 1,000 Backpacks & Supplies to Schools in NY
Local Company’s Backpack Giveback Fundraiser Makes a Difference
Amsterdam, NY –September 22, 2021– Hill & Markes, a family-owned wholesale distributor, launched a successful Backpack Giveback fundraiser that provided over 1,000 backpacks and $15,000 worth of supplies to 15+ school districts in NY.
“We are excited to help provide backpacks and supplies for the upcoming academic year after such a challenging experience for students, teachers, and families during the pandemic,” said, Jason Packer, CEO at Hill & Markes. “The Backpack Giveback is a way for the Hill & Markes team and our valued manufacturer partners to help make a positive impact in the future of many children attending school - giving them the confidence and supplies necessary to learn and grow.”
Ownership and Hill & Markes employees worked together to make this fundraiser is a huge success, Hill & Markes teamed up with vendors and local connections such as; KCH, Clorox, FoodHandler, I.Rice, Morcon Tissue, Novolex, Westrock, Essendant, Essity, Bunzl, 3M, GOJO, NYSID, and Assemblymember Angelo Santabarbara.
“We are excited to be able to provide the children in our community with school supplies for the 2021-2022 school year! Our goal is to eliminate obstacles for students and their families so children can focus on learning and being kids,” stated Jillian DeGiulio, Human Resources Manager at Hill & Markes.
