Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce President Bob Duffy’s Statement on the Murder of Rochester Police Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz
“For nearly three decades Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz protected and served the City of Rochester, and his life was taken last night by a cold-blooded murderer. As opposed to taking retirement or a desk assignment, Tony remained on the front lines. I had the honor of serving alongside him for many years and will always remember him as the courageous, compassionate hero that he was. You can’t take back these streets with words. In addition to the thoughts and prayers we are all offering, now is the time for action. Rochestarians deserve to feel safe on their streets and in their homes. The bullet that went through Tony also went through his family, his colleagues, and this entire community. Enough is enough.”
