Call for Industry Partners: Social Media Marketing Project & Judges Needed
Professor Gijs Overgoor, Marketing PhD from the University of Amsterdam, at Rochester Institute of Technology is teaching MKTG-430 and is looking for industry partners. Prof Overgoor utilizes industry partners as the basis for students to learn how to create media campaigns, how to use strategies and tactics in the most popular social media platforms, as well as how to generate reports and actions based on social media analytics.
A team of 4 to 5 students will work on a semester long project analyzing the social media presence of an industry partner, at the end of the semester they will present a comprehensive report to a company representative which would touch on a wide range of topics (competitor analysis, target demographics, opportunities for improvement, etc). Any information our industry partner shares with our students would be confidential.
There is no cost to any of this, but it would require a minimum time commitment (1-2 hrs total) from a company representative in the beginning of the semester to help define the parameters of the project, and at the end of the semester for a final presentation.
RIT is also looking for judges for our entrepreneurship program towards the end of April. Students in this program develop businesses from concept to commercialization. They need seasoned business leaders to judge the student proposals. If you have any business leaders or entrepreneurs that would like to participate please let me know. The event would take about two to three hours.
Please contact Julio Talledo, Assistant Director of Business Development, Saunders College of Business at RIT at jtalledo@saunders.rit.edu if you are interested.
