New Restaurant Will Host Live Music Weekly, Bringing Jazz to Downtown All Year Round

Rochester, NY – Hyatt Regency Rochester today announced the upcoming opening of Astor on Main, a new restaurant and music venue located within the hotel, 125 E Main St. Rochester, NY.

Astor on Main is a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience with a unique fusion of food and live music. The menu features elevated comfort food with a Southern flair coupled with a smooth jazz inspired atmosphere and environment – a combination that is unparalleled in downtown Rochester. Located in the Hyatt Regency Rochester, Astor on Main delivers an experience ideal for both local residents and guests of the hotel.

Astor on Main will feature weekly live music and jazz performances, bringing Jazz Music to downtown Rochester all year round. The Hyatt has been a popular and successful venue for the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival for the past several years, so fans of the festival and the genre will feel right at home at Astor on Main’s weekly performances.

To celebrate the launch of the new venture, Astor on Main’s opening weekend coincides with International Jazz Day, with celebrations planned throughout the weekend. Opening weekend performances and details include:

• • Friday April 28, ribbon cutting at 3:00 pm, open to the press. The restaurant opens at 5:00 pm, to the public. Opening day band Rich Thompson Trio
• • Saturday April 29, band Jimmy E Leggs Trio
• • Sunday Brunch April 30, Bob Holtz and A Vision Forward

Live free musical performances will take place every weekend, Friday & Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, featuring local and regional acts. The Astor on Main house band, led by Bob Sneider will perform most Fridays. Sneider is known for leading jam sessions at the Hyatt Regency Rochester most evenings during the Rochester International Jazz Festival. Sunday Brunches will feature the smooth sound of Jimmie Highsmith Jr., another well-known Rochester musician. Additional acts will be announced, building on Astor on Main’s musically vibrant atmosphere to the heart of downtown Rochester.

Astor on Main’s culinary program will be overseen by Executive Chef, George Gremminger a 40 year veteran who is classically trained by New Jersey’s top European chefs. Sous Chef Kevin Stevens brings over a decade of experience, and together the two have crafted a menu for patrons to enjoy for breakfast, lunch, brunch & dinner. A craft cocktail menu complements the fine service.

Additional community partners for the Astor on Main include Black Button Distillery, crafting unique cocktails, as well as Jazz 90.1, & The Theater at Innovation Square.
