Ampersand Books Participates in NOTA Weekend

Writers & Books’ Indie Bookstore offers deep discounts August 4 - 5

Rochester, NY—On August 4 - 5, Writers & Books, Rochester’s home for the literary arts, is participating in NOTA Weekend, a three-day event taking place in the city’s Neighborhood of the Arts, August 4 - 6. Area businesses will be open offering deals, giveaways, special activities, and more. Ampersand Books, Writers & Books’ in-house indie bookstore, is offering a 20% discount on all hardcover books in stock, selling secondhand books by the bagful at $6, and giving away select titles with every purchase. Customers are invited to browse Ampersand’s shelves and indoor and outdoor bargain tables on Friday, August 4, 5 - 8 pm, and Saturday, August 5, 11 am - 5 pm. For more

Ampersand Books is owned and operated by Writers & Books, Rochester’s leading nonprofit literary arts center. The NOTA-based indie boasts a curated selection of award-winning and hard-to-find fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. Specialties include small press titles; texts focused on social justice, memoir, and the craft of writing; and books by local authors and publishers. 5% of sales generated by Ampersand Books’ Essential Reading: Black Lives Matter helps build a Readings on Justice collection at Rochester’s Arnett Branch Library.

Writers & Books, 740 University Avenue, Rochester, NY, promotes reading and writing as lifelong activities for people of all ages and backgrounds to enrich their lives and the intellectual, social, and cultural vibrancy of their communities. Incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 1981, the organization engages youth and adults with the literary arts through writing workshops, readings, presentations, and intersectional activities. Writers & Books owns and operates Ampersand Books, an in-house independent bookstore, and Gell: A Finger Lakes Creative Retreat, sited on 24 acres in Naples, NY.
