Geared for Growth: Lozier Environmental Consulting Cultivates Safety and Expansion Across Greater Rochester, NY
Lozier Environmental Consulting, Inc. provides home and business owners with peace of mind by ensuring that things are done right to keep everyone safe when faced with mold, asbestos, and other airborne fibers. President and CEO Amy Pusateri and Vice President Sam Lombardo were featured on Geared for Growth on January 3rd, 2024 to share more about the business as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM/Fox Rochester. The pair shared the history of the organization, what role Lozier plays throughout the process from inspection and consulting to abatement and renovation, and what exciting new offerings that Lozier has recently added to their laboratory.
Lozier Environmental Consulting is a full-service environmental company that was founded in 2002, and has been owned by siblings Amy and Sam for over three years. They work with mold, asbestos, lead, water-testing, food-testing, and more. “Our primary focus is on asbestos. A lot of people get really worried about it when they buy an older house, but we’re there to guide them through the process if things need to be looked at or renovated,” Pusateri shared. She also noted that they have New York State inspectors who can go into homes to take samples of any suspicious building materials and then analyze them in Lozier’s in-house lab to make sure the whole process is done correctly.
While the company does not handle the abatement of asbestos-containing materials should they be found, they consult to develop a plan of how to best handle that and monitor the process to make sure that the project is ensuring a safe environment both during and after renovations. “We’re like your eyes on the project alongside the abatement contractor,” Lombardo shared. The pair noted that this provides homeowners with a lot of peace of mind to have expert consultants who “get them from A to Z with no worries,” as Amy described it.
When asked where they see the business in ten years, Sam and Amy shared the exciting news that they have earned their food certification. “We have a microbiology department in our lab so we can test and work with local food distributors to test for things like salmonella, listeria, bacteria, and all kinds of things for that nature,” Pusateri explained. She noted that is the area that they are focusing on most to propel their growth, but have several other new offerings on the horizon including a water courier service to make their tests more accessible to more customers throughout the Greater Rochester region.
