Rochester Technology Manufacturing Association hosts first-ever Youth Apprenticeship Week

The week of May 6th, the Rochester Technology Manufacturing Association (RTMA) is participating in its first-ever National Youth Apprenticeship Week! It will be an action-packed week filled with webinars, facility tours, student activities and most importantly celebrating our Youth and Workforce Development Programs. Keep reading to hear about what's in store:

  • Monday, May 6: Tour of Ambrell Corporation
    Tour the facility with workforce development partners from ACCES-VR
  • Tuesday, May 7: NYMAT Student Day
    In partnership with NYMAT Machine Tool Corporation in Fairport, over 125 students and educators are expected to attend.
  • Tuesday, May 7: Building Pathways National Webinar
    At 2 PM, there will be a nationwide webinar on Building Pathways: Transitioning from K-12 Apprenticeships in Semiconductors & Advanced Manufacturers
  • Wednesday, May 8: The 411 on Youth Apprenticeship & Construction Career Day
    Join us for a free statewide webinar featuring charter businesses and educators from the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program
  • Wednesday, May 8: Construction Career Day
    RTMA & FLYAP will participate in the Construction Career Day at Innovative Field with the Builders Exchange of Rochester
  • Thursday, May 9: Grand Opening in Medina
    Students can attend the grand opening of the Gene Haas Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Lab at the Orleans Niagara BOCES in Medina. The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering class is a charter FLYAP school.
  • Friday, May 10: 100th Graduate Celebration in Batavia
    We will celebrate the 100th Graduate of the Genesee Valley BOCES - Batavia Campus - Mechatronics Program! The Electromechanical Trades Program is the only one of its kind in the region and is an annual participant of the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program.
