Litigator Robert Yawman promoted to Partner at Adams Leclair LLP
Rochester, N.Y.—As of June 2, 2024, Robert P. Yawman has been promoted to partner at Adams Leclair LLP after serving as an associate for the firm since 2016.
Rob’s practice focuses on business litigation, commercial landlord-tenant matters, and real property disputes. Prior to joining Adams Leclair, Rob worked as a Deputy County Attorney for Monroe County where he defended the County and its employees in civil rights cases, personal injury matters, and Article 78 proceedings.
“Rob brings a wealth of experience to the partnership which elevates our entire firm. We can always count on Rob for his diligence and thoroughness. Our clients benefit from that because his extra initiative really helps move cases forward,” said Managing Partner Steven Cole. Rob earned his law degree at the University at Buffalo and has trial and arbitration experience in state and federal court and before the American Arbitration Association. He has represented clients in courts throughout the state and has argued on behalf of clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Third and Fourth Departments of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division.
“Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work on all types of civil cases including construction litigation, property disputes, and employment matters. This wide range of cases has allowed me to represent our firm’s clients in all levels of courts and allowed me to develop a broad array of skills,” explained the new partner.
Rob is the second attorney to be named partner at Adams Leclair in 2024. The firm invited Ted Baum to join the partnership in March and has added Kelly Geary.

Rob served on the Villa of Hope Young Professionals Board for four years and helped organize the Villa’s Holiday Wishes program providing holiday gifts for the children living on the Villa’s campus. Rob recently served as the Development Chair for the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar, the charitable arm of the Monroe County Bar Association. He previously served on the Monroe County Bar Association’s Academy of Law for six years.
Rob grew up in the Rochester area and spends most of his time outside of work with his wife, Kate, running after his three children. He can usually be found at a hockey rink, soccer field, or dance recital. The family has a nine-year old dog Francine who adores Rob Jr., Lucy, and Teddy.
