Greater Rochester Chamber Announces ROC Exploration Weekend to Showcase Rochester to Local College Students

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the upcoming ROC Exploration Weekend, a dynamic three-day event under its CampusROC program, aimed at showcasing the rich history, culture, and community of Rochester to local college students. Taking place from September 13th to 15th, this weekend promises to connect students with the vibrant opportunities Rochester has to offer, highlighting why this city is the ideal place to start and grow their careers.

Event Highlights:

  • September 13th: ROC Exploration Weekend Happy Hour
    • Kicking off the weekend, this event offers a unique networking opportunity where local employers can meet and connect with graduate students from the universities in the Greater Rochester Area. It’s a relaxed setting designed to build relationships and introduce students to the thriving business community in Rochester.
  • September 14th: ROC Exploration Weekend Career Fair
    • From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Innovation Square, the career fair will bring together students from area trade schools, two-year, and four-year colleges. Employers will have the opportunity to meet, inspire, and recruit local talent ready to start their careers. The cost of participation is $100, which includes a table and two chairs, making it an affordable way for companies to engage with potential future employees.
  • September 15th: Drag Me to Brunch at Crisp
    • This event features a fabulous brunch experience with local drag queens, including the renowned Mrs. Kasha Davis from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The Rest of the Weekend:

Students will have the opportunity to explore Rochester with exclusive reduced rates at local museums, enjoy a variety of culinary experiences with special deals at participating eateries, and take part in engaging company tours that offer a behind-the-scenes look at some of the region's leading businesses. Additionally, students can participate in raffles and giveaways for a chance to win exciting prizes. This weekend is designed to showcase the full range of what Rochester has to offer, making it clear why this city is an ideal place to live, work, and play.

How Employers Can Get Involved

Local employers are invited to participate in the ROC Exploration Weekend Career Fair on September 14th for a nominal fee of $100. This includes a table and chairs, providing a platform to showcase career opportunities and connect with eager and talented students from across the region. Additionally, employers can choose to sponsor the event, contribute to a raffle or giveaway, or even sponsor the entire weekend for increased visibility.
