Geared for Growth: Lincoln Hill Farms spooks guests of all ages with exciting Halloween attractions
Lincoln Hill Farms is gearing up for a busy Halloween season with activities for the whole family this October. Owner Brian Mastrosimone was featured on Geared for Growth as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM/FOX Rochester. Mastrosimone shared more about what you can expect at the farm this fall, how they differentiate themselves from similar activities throughout Greater Rochester, and his plans for continued growth moving forward.
All of October, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Lincoln Hill Farms will host Halloween themed activities for all ages. The farm’s activities are “spooky, not scary,” and range from games with fun prizes to an
interactive zombie hayride. Their biggest attraction this fall is the zombie ride, which goes from day to night. “We feature a zombie trail where you are on a hayride and have a gun that shoots florescent balls at zombies, and you get 1,000 balls to shoot,” Mastrosimone shared, “And we have a day version as well that doesn’t glow in the dark.” They also have a bar for adults, and plan to screen NFL games and other entertainment.
The activities that they offer is outside of the box and not what you would expect at a typical farm. “It’s unique and different, it’s not your typical farm,” Brian explained, “It’s geared for kids ages 7 and up, and adults - the parents will be having a good time as well.” Brian comes up with ideas to create a different experience and keep people coming back, and then works with his team at the farm to bring them to life. “I have a great crew, and I wouldn’t be able to make this happen without them,” he continued, “It’s a farm family, we’ve been together now for six years.” They work together to plan the Halloween activities starting in July.
Mastrosimone purchased the farm a decade ago in 2014, and their first season open was in 2018. Brian and his team are planning for expansion over the next year, and hope to grow the brand and awareness outside of the Greater Rochester region in the years to come. “I think that [in a decade], we’ll be a national attraction for the Finger Lakes region,” he shared, “There’s nothing like it. We’ve been at it for ten years now, and I’m pretty sure within the next five years, people will be talking about this throughout the nation.”
