date
October 8, 2024

New York now provides employment protections for employees who have been away from work on state active duty with the National Guard pursuant to a call of the governor of New York or any other state. NY 3710 was signed into law and took effect immediately upon signing on September 27, 2024, and applies to employers of all sizes.

Employers should review their handbook policies and update to ensure compliance with this new law as soon as possible.
