ROCHESTER, N.Y. ‒ Sydor Technologies has announced the appointment of Nicholas West as president. Sydor Technologies, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., is a leader in advanced diagnostics and high-speed imaging solutions for defense, scientific research, and industrial applications, including critical scientific missions, fundamental physics research, and impact testing for defense and law enforcement.

This strategic leadership change positions Sydor Technologies for continued rapid expansion as the preferred manufacturing partner for fusion research, synchrotron laboratories, research universities, and ballistic testing programs globally.

In his new role as president, West will oversee the daily operations of Sydor's U.S. and U.K. businesses, reporting to company founder Michael Pavia, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board. Celebrating 20 years of successful technology deployment at leading national research centers and impact testing facilities, Sydor Technologies is poised for the next stage of growth that this highly strategic move will enable.

In addition to his service as a combat veteran in Afghanistan, West has built a distinguished career in government contracting with industry leaders like Harris and Moog, as well as in the commercial space sector with Beyond Gravity. West brings extensive expertise and experience to his role at Sydor, where he will guide the company’s growth trajectory into the future. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo and an MBA in Finance & Strategy from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School.
