Geared for Growth: Vargas Associates Optimizes Workspaces and Builds Relationships to Fuel Continued Success
Vargas Associates works with companies around New York State to design spaces that help maximize productivity in the workplace. President Christine Vargas was featured on Geared for Growth on Wednesday, November 20th as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM/FOX Rochester. Christine shared more about the company and its clients, its collaborative design process, and her vision for continued growth.
Vargas Associates is an interior design and facilities project management company that helps owners and architecture & engineering firms with the challenges that associate with designing a space that works for
their companies. Founded in Rochester, the company just celebrated its 20th anniversary. Vargas shared that they work with all kinds of clients in the private sector, as well as public partners. “You’ll see us doing municipal work with various county and city government structures, and we do a fair amount of healthcare work,” Christine shared, “And, definitely education, both higher education and K-12.” She continued on to say it is most rewarding to work on projects where the community at large can benefit from it and her team is able to see the space being used and enjoyed.
Christine and her team at Vargas Associates work collaboratively with their clients to find the solution that works best for their space and their unique needs. “We start most projects by listening,” she explained, “We need to really understand their vision.” For clients who don’t have a strong idea of what they want in the space, Vargas Associates presents options for feedback and notes. They use technology such as 3D rendering to help clients imagine what things will look like in their space in order to provide a personal feel and consultative approach to every project. “We find that when we create that vision, there is a lot more satisfaction at the end of the project since they knew what they were deciding on,” Christine remarked.
Over the next ten years, Vargas Associates is projected to continue growing in the sectors they have a strong presence in. Christine explained that their strong relationships in the Greater Rochester region have help sustained their growth over the last 20 years. “We’re very proud to be a part of those teams,” Christine noted, “Many of them bring us to the table and allow us to work on these projects that we might not otherwise might not have an opportunity to do.” The organization is hiring additional roles to help fuel their continued growth in 2025.
