Armed with Creativity IV: A Veteran Art Show Where Veterans Display Creative Talents
Rochester, NY – Veterans Outreach Center (VOC) is hosting Armed with Creativity IV: A Veteran Art Show Tuesday, December 10th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the VOC office, 447 South Avenue, Rochester, 14620. The Art Show is part of the agency annual Open House.
“A study by the National Institute of Health found that creating art helps veterans reduce anxiety, process trauma and improve their self-esteem,” Veterans Outreach Center Executive Director and U.S. Army Veteran Laura Heltz said. “The benefits of being creative are clear, and this event gives veterans the opportunity to share their stories through self-expression. We are very excited for this event and to see the community come together in support of the men and women who have served our nation.”
Participation in the art show is open to all veterans and their family members. Veteran artists will be available to interview and interpret their work which runs from fine art, sculpture, photography and more. The Armed with Creativity art show is made possible through funding from the Rochester Area Community Foundation.
