ROCHESTER, NY (December 16, 2024) – In a testament to the economic growth and revitalization happening in the Greater Rochester region, Bob Duffy, President and CEO of Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, has earned a spot on City & State NY’s inaugural Trailblazers in Economic Development list.

Duffy, a former lieutenant governor and Rochester mayor, has led Greater Rochester Chamber since 2015. His leadership has helped the organization garner several statewide awards this year for business growth and leadership, including the Business Council of New York State’s 2024 Chuck Steiner Memorial Chamber of the Year award. Under his direction, Greater Rochester Chamber has deepened its roots in the community and serves as the primary advocate, connector, and resource for businesses throughout our nine-county region.

In collaboration with OneROC partners, Duffy also played a pivotal role in securing Rochester’s designation as a federal tech hub with Buffalo and Syracuse and earning the region $40 million in federal investments. Duffy serves on the SUNY board of trustees and chairs the board overseeing the construction of the new Buffalo Bills stadium.

"Thank you to City & State NY for this recognition as a 2024 Economic Trailblazer, and congratulations to the other outstanding leaders featured, many of whom we work closely with. Economic development is a team effort and strong relationships with our elected officials, business leaders, and economic development partners are the way to drive results,” said Bob Duffy, President & CEO, Greater Rochester Chamber, “Additional congratulations to our partners in Rochester, DeAnna Burt-Nanna, Matt Hurlbutt, and Ebony Miller, on their recognition. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with great leaders throughout New York State to help strengthen our regional and Upstate economy."
