Rochester Salvation Army to host 2024 Christmas Toy Shop & Food Distribution Event
1,200 Monroe County families expected to receive toys and food this week
The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester’s annual Christmas Toy and Food Distribution Shop is happening today, Tuesday, Dec. 17th through Friday Dec. 20th. 1,200 Families who have previously registered for this event will receive free toys and food baskets to prepare a holiday meal.
Parents and guardians of over 3,500 children will “shop” by appointment for gifts inside the West Avenue location of The Salvation Army. In addition to toys, hats and gloves, blankets, stocking stuffers and more will be given away at this assistance event.
More than three hundred volunteers are teaming teamed up with The Salvation Army to donate time at The Salvation Army Toy Shop. Walmart Superstores and Planet Fitness locations were among 40 local businesses and community groups to host Angel Tags so that patrons could buy items from children’s wish lists.
