Greater Rochester Chamber to host 2025 National Civics Bee event in Greater Rochester, NY

date
March 4, 2025

Our community thrives on the foundations of civics, and we are excited to bring the National Civics Bee® back to our community for the second year to encourage middle schoolers to learn about American democracy, engage constructively in their communities, and build trust in their fellow citizens and institutions.

In partnership with The Civic Trust® of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, we are proud to bring the National Civics Bee® to Greater Rochester, NY. This competition invites middle schoolers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades from public, private, charter, and home schools to participate in a first-round civics essay competition. The top 20 students who submitted essays on civics topics were selected to advance to a local in-person live event. The local competition will feature two rounds of civics questions followed by a Q&A round, providing a platform for students to showcase their civics knowledge.

We invite our members and the broader Greater Rochester community to join us in celebrating the civic spirit and intellectual prowess of our local youth by attending the Greater Rochester Chamber's National Civics Bee qualifier event on Monday, March 10, 2024, at 6 pm until 7:30 pm at the MCC Downtown Campus. Your presence and support at this event will not only inspire our young competitors but also underscore the importance of civic engagement in our community.
