Breast Cancer Coalition to host Webinar on Updates in the Surgical Management of Breast Cancer and Reconstruction
Rochester, NY – Each month, the Breast Cancer Coalition hosts a webinar as part of the
organization’s Evening Education Webinar Series. Focusing on a variety of topics related to health
and wellness, the webinars are free and open to the public. On Wednesday, March 26, at 7 pm, join
Rachel Farkas, MD, and Stephen Vega, MD, as they offer an in-depth exploration of the latest
advancements in breast cancer surgery, treatment options, and how these innovations are
improving patient outcomes.
Whether an individual diagnosed with breast cancer is considering surgery, reconstruction, or
revision, this session is designed to offer clarity and confidence in navigating all potential options.
Dr. Farkas and Dr. Vega will discuss advances in breast cancer surgery and reconstruction
techniques, explain when and why revision surgeries may be necessary, and help determine the best
surgical approach for each individual’s needs.
As a breast surgeon, Dr. Farkas has extensive expertise spanning all forms of mastectomy, including
skin- and nipple-sparing procedures, hidden scar techniques, and both sentinel and axillary lymph
node dissections. As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Vega’s contributions to microsurgical techniques have
significantly advanced breast reconstruction practices. Their knowledge and mastery are highly
valued by the Coalition and its survivor community.
The Coalition believes it is essential to offer digestible, relevant, and up-to-date information on
topics that directly impact survivors of breast and gynecologic cancers. The Evening Education
Webinar Series is free of charge and is generously supported by the Lee C. Rosenthal Memorial
Education Fund.
