Timber frame raising for Motion Junction Playground in Canandaigua NY on 6/7/23

date
June 5, 2023

On Wednesday June 7th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm New Energy Works & Dream Big Inclusion welcome the media to the raising of a Douglas fir timber frame pavilion for the Motion Junction Playground, a first of its kind inclusive playground that provides an accessible play experience to children and adults of all physical and mental abilities. Video and photography encouraged.

“Inclusion in Motion started as a once far-fetched dream to create a place for everyone to Be Together, Learn Together, and Play Together. When our concept for a groundbreaking inclusive playground was brought to the Town of Canandaigua it was greeted with open arms, and the dream became a reality,” said Mike Bentley of Inclusion in Motion. “The final park design has earned Motion Junction the prestigious honor of being the first playground in the United States to earn an isUD™ (Innovative Solutions of Universal Design) certification.”

From their design studio and production shop in Farmington New York, New Energy Works designs, crafts, and builds sustainable timber frame custom homes, commercial buildings, and high-performance enclosures throughout North America.

A timber frame raising is a unique media coverage opportunity that blends traditional craft with modern application and will feature very large heavy timbers being raised on site by a team of expert craftspeople from New Energy Works Farmington NY campus. This large pavilion project is 120 feet by 35 feet and will include 270+ timbers, the largest of which are over 35-foot long.
