Geared for Growth: Stacy K Floral Blooming into New Studio in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts
Stacy K Ercan was featured on “Geared for Growth” on Wednesday, August 2nd as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing partnership with 13WHAM. Ercan is the founder and CEO of Stacy K Floral, a florist and design company with the goal of “designing beautiful things and bringing the community together.” Ercan discussed exciting changes happening in their new location on Russell Street, their history as a company, and some of the work they do with the community in Greater Rochester.
Stacy K Floral was founded in 2006 after Ercan graduated from Alfred State University, where she chose to study floral design based on a career
aptitude test she took in high school and the fact that she liked her job at a greenhouse. After finishing her floral program, she decided continued her education in business and open Stacy K Floral. Over the past 17 years, the company has expanded from just offering floral arrangement and design and now assists in designing events and permanent installations at venues. Outside of just florals, “[they] can help with wallpapers and do some of the other finishing touches to bring an organic flow into their spaces” Stacy noted.
Most recently in Spring 2023, the company moved to an expanded studio in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts. This new studio allows for much more space for production, and Stacy also shared that they will be adding a coffee shop to the space. “With our expansion, we reached out to local women business owners to see who would be interested in partnering with us. The Winter Swan is a mobile cart currently and they’re taking the leap to expand into our studio and bringing in some of her Vietnamese influence.” Ercan shared, “She makes really beautiful, colorful teas.”
Stacy K Florals works with several other local businesses in the Greater Rochester region on events and everlasting floral design as well. “Even if you haven’t heard of us, you’ve probably seen some of our work,” Stacy explained. The company has installed silk florals at La Bola in the Mercantile on Main and also has worked with Arbor Venues a number of times. Ercan shared that what inspires her most when designing is the people she works with. “I love to sit down and understand what people are looking for, and what their vision might be. I really am influenced by the people.”
