Years ago Sibley’s Department Store was a destination for thousands of folks during the holiday season. It was an unmatched atmosphere in Downtown Rochester that drew families from all over Monroe County and beyond to experience the holidays at a whole new level. “Toyland” and “The Magic Corridor” are familiar to most Rochesterians and countless have fond memories of their experiences at Sibley’s during the holiday season. Toys, animatronic elves, Santa, and Mrs. Clause were just a few of the nostalgic characters in a floor wide display within Sibley’s.
WinnCompanies, Sibley Square, & the Mercantile on Main (Sibley Square’s Restaurant Marketplace) are proud to announce the restoration of these nostalgic animatronics and decorations that will fill Sibley Square once again! We will be hosting a press conference and unveiling on Friday, December 8th at 4pm within the Mercantile on Main at Sibley Square, at 240 E Main St, with guest speakers including Mayor Malik Evans and County Executive Adam Bello.
Come join Mayor Evans and other Rochester officials share their memories of Sibley’s during the holidays!
