Application Window Opens for Round Six of the Grow-NY International Business Competition

date
March 5, 2024

The Grow-NY food and agriculture business competition has returned for its sixth year! Grow-NY is a business competition focused on growing an enduring food and agriculture innovation cluster in the Grow-NY region. The competition attracts innovative, high-growth food and agriculture startups from across the globe and engages them in the region’s rapidly-growing startup ecosystem.

Finalists will pitch their business ideas for a chance to win up to $1 million. Winning companies will be required to execute bold plans to grow jobs, connect with local industry partners, and contribute to a thriving Upstate economy.

The program supports 20 finalists through a business development phase, connecting them with regional resources through dedicated mentorship, and through introductions that may lead to potential partnerships and other strategic opportunities. The Grow-NY region is a 22-county area spanning Central New York, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier. Since the program’s launch in 2019, its winning startups have created 289 new jobs and attracted millions of dollars in follow-on investment.

Competition is funded through Empire State Development's Upstate Revitalization Initiatives – Finger Lakes Forward, CNY Rising and Southern Tier Soaring – regional comprehensive strategies to revitalize communities and grow the economy.

Applications opened on Friday, March 1, the beginning of what will be hundreds of food and agriculture startup companies competing for a share of $3 million in prizes, including a $1 million top prize. To learn more, see the timeline, and apply, please visit https://www.grow-ny.com/
