Employers Needed: ROC Your Job Youth After School Employment Program
Could your business use a few extra hands without the cost of labor? Apply to participate in the ROC your Job Youth After School Employment Program!
The Roc Your Job program is also a government funded program that is operated by RochesterWorks. The program is open to teens aged 14-20, that are in-school, and residing in Rochester and Monroe County. The funding period is from January 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024. The program provides youth with paid work experience through work sites and programs all across Monroe County. This gives them the opportunity to gain work experience, meet people, and learn new skills through these programs.
RochesterWorks is actively recruiting worksites that can provide opportunities for youth interns for the Direct Placement Program to engage in real-world work experiences in the community. Interested businesses should complete an Intern Request Form.
The cost of employee wages is covered by RochesterWorks! The worksites are solely responsible for providing their interns with a meaningful work experience through coaching and mentoring. RochesterWorks! staff will provide followup monitoring to ensure that both program participants and worksite partners have a beneficial and enjoyable experience.
This is a great opportunity to:
- Mentor a school-age youth
- Obtain additional support for your business, paid by RochesterWorks
- This could be an opportunity for a small business in need of helping hands
- Employers will have the support of Monitors/Job Coaches to support the placement
- A way to develop talent for future opportunities
