Agency rebrands to better convey its work for providers and families

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 16, 2024 – For 50 years, Child Care Council Inc. has been a leading nonprofit organization, helping support child care providers and strengthening families. 2024 marks the fiftieth year since the agency was incorporated.

Originally formed as the Western New York Child Care Council, the organization provides training and education programs for providers and free child care referrals for parents, along with information about quality, regulations and the cost of care.

As part of its anniversary celebration, the Council also unveiled new branding for the agency. To better inform child care providers and families about its services and programs, Child Care Council conducted a rebranding initiative over the last several months.

This effort resulted in new mission, vision and value statements, a new brand identity, brand guidelines and a new tagline. The Council is in the process of rolling out the rebranding to the community, through new signage, communication materials, events and more.

  • Mission: Child Care Council provides comprehensive resources, support, and services for child care providers and families. We improve the lives of children and strengthen families through knowledge and integrity. Driven by our commitment to equity, we value every person.
  • Vision: A child care landscape that invests in the future of children, families, and businesses.
  • Tagline: Supporting providers. Strengthening families.

Child Care Council CEO Jeff Pier said, “Child Care Council has been helping providers and families navigate the complex child care system for five decades. Through this rebranding, we are better conveying the work that we do – and making it clearer that we do not provide direct care for children.”

Through its five decades, the Council has grown from an agency with a $20,000 budget and a staff of 1.5 people into the largest Child Care Resource Center in New York state, with a more than $7 million budget, more than 60 employees, offices in Monroe, Livingston and Wayne counties, and collaborative partnerships with Chemung, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben and Yates counties.
