Wednesday, October 16th marks National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day, designed to strengthen the local business community by encouraging people to utilize the wealth of services that local chambers offer to support business growth. As the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region’s largest business resource and advocacy organization, Greater Rochester Chamber is excited to celebrate this year’s holiday as an opportunity to connect with new organizations, expand our support, and engage with our 1,300+ valued members.

Chambers of Commerce date back to the 1500s in France, and today there are over 4,000 local chambers throughout the United States. Greater Rochester Chamber has been serving our business community since 1887 with the mission to help the nine-county Finger Lakes region grow and thrive. Greater Rochester Chamber collaborates with our private and public partners, including other local chambers, to be a collective voice, create spaces to network, support human resources professionals, offer professional development courses, and drive our region forward as a catalyst for growth and prosperity.

This year, we invite you to join in on the National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day celebrations in a number of ways:

• Proudly Share Your Greater Rochester Chamber Membership

Be loud and proud that you’re a Greater Rochester Chamber member! Share a post on social media in support of National Support Your Local Chamber day. We’ve created a set of sample posts for you to easily share and can be customized to add your logo if you choose. Be sure to tag us with @GreaterRochesterChamber or @RochesterChambr when you post!

And, continue to spread the word that you’re a member every day with a Proud Member window cling for your office or store and a Proud Member digital badge to display on your website. Contact Kevin Donahue to request your physical decal or digital badge.

• Encourage Your Employees to Take Advantage

Be sure to let your employees know that if your organization is a member, all of your employees have access to anything Greater Rochester Chamber offers. From attending our events to taking advantage of any of the resources we offer, be sure to invite or remind your employees to register on our site to get our email list and stay up to date on what’s available to members.

• Find New Ways to Utilize Your Membership

Greater Rochester Chamber is always refining our offerings and services to better meet the needs of our members and the broader business community. Register for our upcoming Membership Orientation & Services Overview on November 19th to hear about all the ways we can help your business grow.

• Refer Your Network of Vendors, Customers, and Friends

If you know of any other companies in our region that could benefit from working with Greater Rochester Chamber to remove barriers to growth and connect to success, start the conversation and connect them with Kevin Donahue to explore how membership can help.
