University of Rochester School of Nursing seeking employer participation in cancer study

date
November 27, 2024

The University of Rochester School of Nursing is seeking employer participation in a study aimed to improve employment outcomes among young adult cancer survivors.

The team is seeking employers' perspectives on how they assist these survivors with continuing their employment during cancer treatment, and are actively recruiting for this study.

Participants from each of the following groups are needed:

  1. Young adult cancer survivors:(diagnosed between 20-39 years and must have been employed to any extent at any point from their diagnosis to the present day — put simply, they need to have some experience in the workforce.)
  2. Direct supervisors/employer experts: have been in the role of a “supervisor” for at least 1 year; must be working in the US; OR have expertise providing employment-related resources to young adult cancer survivors (so for example, an employee at Cancer and Careers can be eligible here).
  3. Human Resources Professionals: have been an HR professional for at least 1 year in the US

What will participants be asked to do? Participate in a 45-minute interview with our study team, where we will ask about your specific experiences as either a young adult cancer survivor navigating work, a direct supervisor or employer expert, and/or a Human Resources (HR) professional. You will be compensated $50 for your time at the end of the interview.
