Five Star Bank Welcomes James Worboys as Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending
WARSAW, N.Y. – January 3, 2025 – Five Star Bank (the “Bank”), a subsidiary of Financial Institutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISI), announced that James Worboys has joined as Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending.
In his new role, Mr. Worboys will focus on cultivating and managing full banking relationships with commercial real estate developers across the Greater Rochester region. He brings extensive experience in real estate acquisition, development and valuation to his new role. Most recently, he served as Senior Acquisition and Development Analyst with Cook Properties, a privately-owned real estate investment firm in Rochester. Prior to that, Worboys was a Consultant with Empire Valuation Consultants, where he performed valuations on real estate holdings across all asset classes including industrial, NNN lease, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and more.

Mr. Worboys earned his B.A. in Economics from Vassar College and his M.P.P. and M.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and McDonough School of Business, respectively. Earlier this year, he also completed the Real Estate Investment Modeling certificate program through Cornell University. Mr. Worboys is active in the community, volunteering for UR Medicine’s Wilmot Cancer Institute.
