Geared for Growth: SCN Hospitality feeds Greater Rochester, NY at six full-service restaurants

date
January 14, 2025

SCN Hospitality builds full scale restaurants across a variety of cuisines throughout Greater Rochester. Owner and CEO Josh Miles was featured on Geared for Growth on Wednesday, January 8 as part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s partnership with 13WHAM/FOX Rochester. Miles shared more about the restaurants they own, their impact on the Greater Rochester community, and what’s coming next at their restaurants.

SCN Hospitality was started by husband and wife Josh and Jenna Miles over a decade ago in 2013 when they founded The Revelry in the Neighborhood of the Arts. Since then, they have experienced significant growth

and now own and operate additional properties including Branca Midtown, Bitter Honey, Velvet Belly, Ziggy’s, and Patron Saint. “I came from Charleston, South Carolina and I wanted to bring southern hospitality to Rochester,” Miles explained for his motivation to open a restaurant here. They have also previously managed additional properties throughout upstate New York, including in Buffalo.

Over the past 12 years, SCN Hospitality has grown to have over 265 employees. “The impact that we’ve had on the community for our guests and our employees, we couldn’t be more proud of or thankful for that,” Josh explained. In addition to owning and operating their restaurants, SCN Hospitality also offers consulting services to other restaurants looking to grow in the region. They have expertise in the entire process of opening and operating a restaurant, including construction, planning, operating procedures, branding, menu design, sourcing, and more.

Looking ahead, Miles and the SCN Hospitality team have plans to refine and redevelop their properties to stay on trend and consistent with the needs of the market and make their existing properties the best they can be. They just recently opened Patron Saint, a new American steakhouse, in the fall after years of work, so looking forward, they will optimize that establishment to make it a Rochester staple. “Along with that, we’re going back to the beginning at The Revelry and doing a slight reconceptualization of that,” Miles shared, “We’ve got some surprises up our sleeves.”
