Shape Monroe County’s Climate Future: Business Participation Needed in Organics Management Plan Survey

date
January 14, 2025

Monroe County is currently in the process of developing an Organics Management Plan (OMP) to complement its existing Local Solid Waste Management Plan. The primary goal of the OMP is to reduce and divert organic waste from disposal, while supporting the county's existing goals for recycling, waste reduction, and reuse. Furthermore, as a certified Climate Smart Community, Monroe County aims to further its efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is in line with its Climate Action Plan (CAP).

Monroe County is seeking feedback from businesses or organizations operating in the county to develop the OMP. Businesses can access the survey to make their voices heard online here: https://bartonloguidice.mysocialpinpoint.com/monroe-county-omp/3xpz Your experiences and feedback will be used to help identify potential solutions, challenges, and prioritize resources for businesses and organizations like yours.

Additional opportunities to provide comment on draft documents associated with the Organics Management Plan can be found on the Monroe County website at MonroeCounty.gov/Organics-Management-Plan. For questions, please contact OMPComments@monroecounty.gov.
