Workforce Training

Given the current pandemic situation, we have moved our in-person training offerings to a virtual platform. We are hopeful that a lifting of restrictions will soon allow us to host these trainings in-person as originally planned in the near future. We invite you to take advantage of these trainings virtually to continue your learning and professional growth.

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce offers several training opportunities, presented by knowledgeable and experienced training consultants, to give your employees practical skills and knowledge they can immediately put to use in their job. These training opportunities are available to both members and non-members, though members get a substantial discount on the cost. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB): This training builds knowledge and skills and is an important step towards creating a strong and sustainable climate of inclusion in your organization. DEIB training programs are also an essential aspect of building engaged and happy teams. Organizations with strong diversity climates are more likely to have increased job satisfaction, higher levels of trust, and more engaged employees. Human Resources Management - Comprehensive, hands-on series of six half-day classes designed to refresh skills for people already in the HR profession, or provide an overview of HR policies and practices for those just entering the field. Each module can be taken separately, or attend the entire workshop series to receive a certificate of accomplishment at the end of day three. For more details, click here.

Leadership for Managers - This program consists of five half-day sessions that include the practical concepts, strategies, and skills needed to enhance a leader's performance. Learn to create a culture of higher trust where people are happier, more engaged, and much more productive. Integrate generational differences into leadership mindset. Improve interpersonal skills and build emotional intelligence. Improve teamwork and motivation. Understand TQM and lean thinking in the modern organization. Master all forms of communication to reduce stress and conflict. The program is experiential and entertaining. Have a great time while learning vital leadership skills. The training can be customized in terms of content to stress certain areas important to a particular group. The materials can also be customized to a particular industry. Successful Supervision - Supervisory success is made possible by understanding the options and tools available to you as a supervisor or manager. Successful supervision is a function of role clarity, the achievement of goals, the development of people, decision-making skill, successful delegation, effective communication, and the selection and retention of talent. Successful supervisors know how to create self-fulfilling prophecies of success…through people. This series of five half-day sessions will equip your supervisors/managers with the tools they need to be a more effective supervisor, whether they have experience or are new to the role.
